The Shining Blade

The Shining Blade is a legendary sword crafted in the Mystic Forge.

What it looks like

Aura

• The wielder's arm is surrounded by a purple shroud.

Draw/Stow effects

• Upon drawing the weapon, purple light is channelled and explodes, encasing the swordarm and the weapon itself in their respective auras. Further, the sword's unsheathing mechanism is triggered, expanding the blade, the crossguard, and the handle and shrinking the guard so the handle can be gripped…
• While stowed, the crossguard of the sword forms the Shining Blade's emblem, glowing faintly.

Footfalls

• The user leaves behind glowing footfalls that consist of the emblem of the Shining Blade. The color transitions from gold to purple.

Skill effects

• Weapon swings leave a yellow-purple trail.
• Ranged skills will throw The Shining Blade instead of the default projectile. This effect changes the following skills:

Sound

• Drawing/Stowing the weapon produces loud sounds of sliding and clanking metal parts.

To its namesake faction, the Shining Blade is more an old friend than an ancient Seer artifact. Its historical codenames include "the family heirloom," "that old thing," and "Gran's best knife."
